About Us

North West Network was established by a consortium of voluntary sector organisations in 1993 as a direct response to the ever-increasing demand for clear, professional advice and information on how to access and manage funds from the European Union. From modest roots over a decade ago, North West Network has developed significantly and now occupies a unique and distinctive position within the region’s voluntary sector. North West Network has identified five strategic objectives:

  • Maintaining voluntary sector confidence to access European Structural Fundsi
  • Support for emerging networks
  • Development of wider funding and grant support services
  • Expansion of volunteer management and development services
  • Development of wider intelligence and information dissemination on European affairs

The Charitable Objects of North West Network

To improve the efficiency of the administration of charities in direct pursuit of their objects and to further any charitable purpose in the present counties of Lancashire, Merseyside, Cheshire, Cumbria and Greater Manchester, by the provision of advice, training and information of educational value in particular (but not so as to limit the generality of the foregoing) concerning the nature and assistance provided for charities by the institutions of the European Community.
