Big Lottery has launched BASIS 2. The BASIS (Building and Sustaining Infrastructure Support) programme aims to ensure that voluntary and community organisations throughout England have access to high quality support that will help them be more effective. Following the success of BASIS 1 that awarded close to £100 million to over 200 projects supporting third sectori infrastructure, BASIS 2 is taking a more targeted approach and is looking to fund projects that fill the highest priorityi gaps in the current VCSi infrastructure support to ensure the sector’s wide spectrum of organisations can access relevant high-quality assistance.

Awards vary from £10,001 to a maximum grant of £500,000 for projects within one region (£750,000 for England-wide projects). The deadline for applications is 2.00pm on 27 August 2008.
