North West Network held an ESFi Community Grants showcase on the 20 November 2009 in Preston. The event, organised with Merseyside Network for Europe featured projects which had been funded in the North West through the Community Grants programme.

Over 50 people also heard from representatives of the Grant Co-ordinating Bodies in each of the 5 sub-regions as well as a representative from the Learning and Skills Council (LSCi). The event also featured a project village where a wide range of projects funded through Community Grants exhibited. The highlight of the event was the showing of a specially commissioned film profiling 5 projects in the North West which have benefited from Community Grants funding. The film featured interviews with people who had benefited from the projects as well as representatives of the projects themselves.
