The European Social Fund (ESFi) Evaluation Team has published three programme evaluation reports. Evaluations are carried out to assess whether the ESF programme is achieving its objectives. They also provide evidence to improve the way ESF works.

Employment Minister Chris Grayling has announced a series of reforms to deliver a 21st century welfare system. The new Work Programme will replace the current back to work schemes and provide a coherent package of support for people out of work, regardless of the barriers they face or the benefits they claimi. The Government is inviting expressions of interest from the private, public and voluntary sectors to help deliver this.

The North West Third Sectori Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) Ltd is open for membership applications from Thursday 1 July 2010. The SPV is an independent organisation, set up to enable the North West VCSi to tender for large scale learning, skills and employability contracts on a regional basis.
