Sustainable Communities 2008: A Shared Strategy for the Future

Date:
Thu, 06/11/2008

This event is being held at the Church House Conference Centre, Westminster, London SW1P 3NZ on 6 November 2008. This is the second annual Sustainable Communities Conference and Exhibition, which will bring together organisations and individuals actively involved in building Sustainable Communities, providing an unique opportunity for debate and to share knowledge and best practice across the sector. The Sustainable Communities conference will address the impact of the latest Government legislation and strategies initiated to support this development process.
This conference follows an unprecedented period of change and development – with the publication of the Homes and Regeneration Bill, Energy Bill, Planning Bill and the Climate Change Bill – and an ever-increasing emphasis on shared knowledge and partnership delivery, aligning current strategies with the impact of the Local Government White Paper and new Performance targets underpinning the devolution of power to local government and communities. Consequently, this year, the focus for the conference will be on a shared strategy for the future, with debate around the key themes for establishing strong and prosperous Sustainable Communities.
