Big Coaching Project Round 1: Greater Manchester
North West Network (NWN) completed the first round of the Big Coaching Project in February 2007. All elements of the project have been successful with over 20 beneficiaries supported.

Big Coaching Project Round 2: Lancashire
North West Network (NWN) completed the Lancashire round of the Big Coaching Project in September 2007. All elements of the project have been successful with 40 beneficiaries supported.

Big Coaching Project Round 3: Cheshire
North West Network has recruited participants for its Cheshire SAMi Volunteer Management training to start training in January 2008. Free places on the coaching element of the project are still available. We would like to hear from you if you are someone who is responsible for volunteers in a Cheshire based voluntary sector organisations.

Big Coaching Project Round 4 & 5: Merseyside and Cumbria
NWN is going to hold rounds four and five of the Big Coaching Project in Mersyside and Cumbria. We would like to hear from you if you are:

  • A volunteering infrastructure organisation or someone who is responsible for volunteers in a voluntary sector organisations.

The benefits you will receive as a volunteering infrastructure organisations attending our free SAM Volunteer Management Training include having:

  • A free new development tool to complement your services in helping volunteer involving organisations
  • An opportunity to learn new skills and techniques to help you in your role

The benefits you will receive as a volunteer managers/coordinators from free coaching include:

  • Having one to one intense support for six months (totaling twelve sessions)
  • Having someone to talk through volunteering issues in a safe non judgemental environment
  • An opportunity to look at your volunteer programme to identify what you do well and what you could improve
  • Increasing your confidence within your working environment
